Minimalist Fall Bucket List

By: Sophia Romero

Fall is upon us. Leaves are turning yellow and orange, the weather is getting cooler, and it is finally time to pop in the Halloween movies or watch Harry Potter, and wear sweaters. What also comes with fall are the traditions to partake in.

Here are ten minimalist ways to celebrate fall without breaking the bank.

  1. Go on a picnic: Venture into nature with your pals and enjoy some good food!
  2. Go for a bike ride: In Albuquerque, there is a Bosque walking trail where one can enjoy the river while talking a stroll, bike ride, horseback ride or even roller skate!
  3. Explore your hometown: “Breaking Bad” was filmed in my hometown, and I have always wanted to visit Walter White’s house.
  4. Binge watch a TV show you love: “Gilmore Girls” is set in a quaint town called Stars Hollow and the setting will definitely get you in the fall spirit while caffeinated.
  5. Start bullet journaling: Bullet journaling can be anything from to-do lists to writing down random thoughts or experiences. Who doesn’t love writing down their thoughts and using colorful pens?
  6. Meditate in the morning: Jumpstart your day with complete silence and gratitude.
  7. Go to a yoga class: Stretching in the morning can help alleviate stress from a worried mind.
  8. Go to your city’s website and find cheap or inexpensive activities to partake in: The Chamber of Commerce regularly post events on their page, check it out!
  9. Read a book: When falls rolls around I scour the internet for best reads where I can curl up and waste the day away.
  10.  Taste test new coffee shops: As a coffee lover, this is a past time I rather enjoy. I live around the Nob Hill area in Albuquerque, and there are nooks and crannies of coffee shops scattered across the metro.
