Blake Smith Opinion

By Blake Smith

Just the other day, I went and talked to my advisor to see what classes I needed to take for the Fall 2014 semester.

She told me what classes I needed, but the words she said to me that really stuck out were “You are a senior.” This was the moment that it really sunk in to me. I am going to be a senior next year, and I will be graduating in May 2015.

Honestly, it feels like yesterday that I started my first day of elementary school. Then came middle school, high school, and my first year of college.

Time really does fly by, especially when you are having fun. Looking back, I really had a blast in high school. I played three different sports, I was a member of the National Junior Honor Society, and I was a member of the student council.

High school was great, and I always seemed to have a good time. Those four years flew by in a blink of an eye. I started out at New Mexico Junior College before transferring to Eastern New Mexico University.

I still remember, just like it was yesterday, moving to Portales to come to school at ENMU. From the get-go, I met so many great people, made so many new friends, and have already made so many great memories that I will never forget.

I really do believe that because I enjoy going to school here and because I do have so much fun here, that it has made time fly by. With just a few weeks left in the semester, and with finals week approaching, it is really hard to believe that my first year at ENMU and my junior year are so close to coming to an end.

Looking back, coming to ENMU was a great decision, and although the time is flying by, I am enjoying every second of it.Blake
