Life Goes On?

So much has gone on between the time Kobe Bryant died and right now. As a whole, we are still going through a global pandemic. There have been life threatening situations taking place since Kobe passed.

These life-threatening situations that took place are the wildfires throughout Australia. Life-altering situations were sports being suspended. Every senior didn’t get to have that last hoorah they imagined. All student athletes have worked hard through the school year preparing for the NCAA tournaments, but didn’t receive the chance to prove why they deserve that champion title.

As months pass, there is still no talk about giving students who lost out on a dream come true, another chance to redeem themselves the following season. Will the world be the same when this global pandemic is over? States are still on lock down with most businesses still closed. Nobody seems to know.

Vulnerable people are still dying from COVID-19. Some death rates are higher in other states. Arizona is continually getting worse each day due to everything opening back up. There shouldn’t be a rush in opening places if we’re still in the middle of a global pandemic. Also, there was a curfew when the protests were going on. Now that COVID-19 rates are rising, curfew is lifted; which makes no sense. I can’t help but feel like this goes back to being prejudice and that does nothing for the black community. There is no reason for this to be happening still. We all saw how these past weeks turned out due to injustice in the world.

COVID-19 is much more dangerous than peaceful protests for justice. That should be a known fact, but unfortunately it isn’t.
