Here’s a Quick-Guide for Thinking About College

Written by: Tilasha Williams

Some people might say that college is a great opportunity for those who want to make a lot of money. That may be the case, but people are successful without going to college. College is not for everyone; we all know that. People think that just because someone goes to college, they’ll automatically have a great, well-paying job. This isn’t the case for some.

College can be overwhelming in the beginning, but it also helps open up a mind to so many new things in life. The experience is as good as you make it out to be, meaning that you can learn as much as you want while still enjoying yourself.

Also, don’t feel like the world is coming down just because of not knowing what to study. There are people who change their major around two to three times from what they thought they wanted to study. For example, a doctor. In that realm, people change their mind about what field they’d like to study all of the time. There is no set time to finish college like there was to finish high school.

The best preparation for college to have in mind, is have good time management. High school work may have been bad, but just think about having three presentations in a week; along with multiple papers due at the same time. There is no way to be completely prepared for college, but this is a start. You’ll learn to manage your time better as time goes on. College has its ups and downs depending on how you see it. People have different experiences. What I suggest is this; do what’s best for you, because only you know what that is. Good luck!
